Coronavirus has become pandemic throughout the nation. The requirement for Test kits is in great demand due to the rise in Cases all over the world. The development has been rising each day. Every country is making its fine efforts to deal and break this chain of Coronavirus Pandemic outbreak. The Test kit has become important due to the rising case throughout the world.
The Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in India has developed a COVID-19 test kit, Which is a low-cost kit and is approved by ICMR ( Indian Council of Medical Research), which is a nodal health agency dealing with COVID-19 outbreak.
The initiation of Test it began in January 2020 when no cases were found in the country. " We developed the test kit within 3 months and we had begun working on it on January. Testing will be cheaper than all existing devices," said V. Perumal, Professor IIT- Delhi. It is a swab test kit.
The low-cost test kit will be very beneficial for the patient due to its affordability and a better outcome. ICMR has approved the COVID-19 Test kit that has made by IIT- Delhi's Kusuma School of Biological Sciences (KSBS). The development has also made IIT Delhi, The first institute to have got the approval from ICMR for Real-time PCR Based Diagnostic assay.
The Professor has reported that the production of the kit may cost does up to Rs.300 in the country. At present the market kit cost is rs. 4500. This is a first probe free assay for COVID-19 approved by ICMR and it will be effective in high throughput screening. It can be easily scaled up and does not require a Floroscent probe.
Due to this rising patients and cases throughout the world, This invention has given support with better sensitivity and affordability. This invention as provided cost-effective output that is being approved by ICMR.
Each and every country and Citizens are fighting with this pandemic outbreak, I hope that this Coronavirus ends as soon as possible.
